Greetings to all who happen to land here. Welcome to the __macondo__ photo galleries of Andrew McRae. I prefer to call myself an amateur enthusiast rather than an enthusiastic amateur; perhaps it has a more optimistic ring to it? I live in Melbourne, Australia, and travel frequently in Europe, mainly in France. After years of showing my photos under the nickname macondo, on trekearth.com, I've decided to display my photo galleries on SmugMug. Don't hesitate to leave comments or suggestions. I'm not too thick-skinned and hope to learn something from them. Most of my photos are landscapes or cityscapes, often with human figures, in which I try to preserve the original or natural colour of the countryside, coast or city, and to record observations of people in a larger setting; you will find my photos are not heavily saturated or strongly contrasting.
